- Notes on using the shareware version
- -----------------------------------------
-
- You should place the application or document file
- that will be launched in a "Staging" folder before using
- the AutoRunCD Wizard. We suggest that you keep a
- separate drive for "staging" purposes, and place all the
- files you wish to copy to your CD-R or CD-RW drive in
- the "Root" directory.
-
- The "Process" button does not become active until
- a launch file has been selected. When you use the
- "Process" button, the AutoRunCD files will be copied
- into the same folder as the application or document
- you select to launch.
-
- If you do not want AutoRunCD to display before
- launching an application or document, leave the
- "Splash Image" field set to "(None)". You may also
- choose not to play a sound, or display a caption by
- leaving these fields set to "(None)" as well. Use
- the "Clear" buttons to reset each field. DO NOT LEAVE
- ANY FIELD BLANK.
-
- The image file must be in Windows BMP format. A
- sample image is included with AutoRunCD. It is
- generally a good idea to use a 256 color BMP image,
- but it is not absolutely necessary. Also, the image
- should not be larger than 450 x 250 pixels. The Wizard
- does not check the size of the image. A preview of
- the splash image will appear in the box next to the
- image file field.
-
- The sound file must be in Windows WAV format, and
- should generally be under 1MB for optimal performance.
- You can preview the sound using the arrow button to
- the right of the sound file field. Note that you can
- also preview a sound when the "Open Sound File" dialog
- box is displayed. Right-Click on a WAV file and choose
- "Play".
-
- You may change the background color of the AutoRunCD
- window by using the "Select" button. The default color
- is white. Note that you will only see the background color
- in the AutoRunCD window if "Full Screen" is checked.
-
- If "Full Screen" is checked, the AutoRunCD window will
- automatically resize to fill the screen, regardless of display
- settings. The splash image will be centered in the window.
-
- You can check "Minimize" to minimize all open applications.
- Most of these will go to the Windows Taskbar. AutoRunCD
- will never close any open applications, however you may
- notice that certain applications will minimize to the Desktop.
- These can usually be restored by double clicking on them.
-
- Keep an eye on the status bar at the bottom of the
- AutoRunCD Wizard for information regarding your project,
- especially after using the "Process" button.
-
- You can test the autorun by executing "autorun.exe"
- in your staging folder, after using the AutoRunCD
- Wizard.
-
- There are many more features in the professional
- version of AutoRunCD.
