  5. Notes on using the shareware version

  8. You should place the application or document file 
  9. that will be launched in a "Staging" folder before using
  10. the AutoRunCD Wizard. We suggest that you keep a 
  11. separate drive for "staging" purposes, and place all the 
  12. files you wish to copy to your CD-R or CD-RW drive in 
  13. the "Root" directory.

  15. The "Process" button does not become active until
  16. a launch file has been selected. When you use the
  17. "Process" button, the AutoRunCD files will be copied
  18. into the same folder as the application or document
  19. you select to launch.
  20.  
  21. If you do not want AutoRunCD to display before
  22. launching an application or document, leave the
  23. "Splash Image" field set to "(None)". You may also
  24. choose not to play a sound, or display a caption by
  25. leaving these fields set to "(None)" as well. Use
  26. the "Clear" buttons to reset each field. DO NOT LEAVE
  27. ANY FIELD BLANK.

  29. The image file must be in Windows BMP format. A
  30. sample image is included with AutoRunCD. It is
  31. generally a good idea to use a 256 color BMP image,
  32. but it is not absolutely necessary. Also, the image
  33. should not be larger than 450 x 250 pixels. The Wizard
  34. does not check the size of the image. A preview of
  35. the splash image will appear in the box next to the 
  36. image file field.

  38. The sound file must be in Windows WAV format, and
  39. should generally be under 1MB for optimal performance.
  40. You can preview the sound using the arrow button to
  41. the right of the sound file field. Note that you can
  42. also preview a sound when the "Open Sound File" dialog 
  43. box is displayed. Right-Click on a WAV file and choose
  44. "Play".

  46. You may change the background color of the AutoRunCD
  47. window by using the "Select" button. The default color
  48. is white. Note that you will only see the background color
  49. in the AutoRunCD window if "Full Screen" is checked.

  51. If "Full Screen" is checked, the AutoRunCD window will
  52. automatically resize to fill the screen, regardless of display
  53. settings. The splash image will be centered in the window.
  54.  
  55. You can check "Minimize" to minimize all open applications.
  56. Most of these will go to the Windows Taskbar. AutoRunCD 
  57. will never close any open applications, however you may
  58. notice that certain applications will minimize to the Desktop.
  59. These can usually be restored by double clicking on them.

  61. Keep an eye on the status bar at the bottom of the 
  62. AutoRunCD Wizard for information regarding your project, 
  63. especially after using the "Process" button.

  65. You can test the autorun by executing "autorun.exe" 
  66. in your staging folder, after using the AutoRunCD 
  67. Wizard.
